Notify the Public Education Department: Notify NMPED within 30 days of establishing the homeschool and renew the notification annually by August 1. Meet instructor and subject requirements: The instructor must have a high-school diploma or equivalent. Include reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, and follow required immunization-record rules. Keep helpful academic records: The department recommends keeping learning evidence and records for transitions.
